OVERVIEW
The ING KiDS ROCK is a nationwide series of road races and training programs for kids that operates in conjunction with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. This successful kids-focused extension is currently the largest kids-only running series in the U.S. and is continuing to expand.
Through four-, six- and eight-week training programs, kids can train with parents, teachers, coaches and friends to work toward the common goal of completing a total of 26 or 13 miles. On race day, participants come together to complete their final mile on the course and become official ING KiDS ROCK finishers. All finishers receive a medal, t-shirt and goodie bag for their accomplishments.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
The ING KiDS ROCK mission is to fight childhood obesity, promote youth fitness and raise awareness of the need for healthy lifestyles. Currently ING KiDS ROCK has been able to make an impact and help children live healthy lifestyles in seven markets across the U.S.
FINISH LINE CELEBRATION
ING KiDS ROCK provides a unique, safe, positive, family-friendly event with a lively Finish Line Festival to celebrate each participant’s significant achievement.
PRESIDENT’S CHALLENGE ADVOCATE
ING KiDS ROCK is teaming up with the President’s Challenge to reach as many kids as possible across the nation. The President’s Challenge promotes physical activity that is fun and that you can do on your own, with friends or with family members. Participants in ING KiDS ROCK earn awards for staying active – and track progress along with other kids across America.
